Bathroom Trim and Finish Carpentry in Columbus, Ohio

Transit & Flow Group handles finish carpentry across Columbus and Central Ohio, but this Bathroom Services page covers the version of that work specific to a bathroom project: baseboard, door casing, and other trim-out complicated by tile edges, a vanity, and tub or shower surrounds, in a room where trim rarely runs in a straight, uninterrupted line. Is this the right service for you?

  • Baseboard and door casing needing removal and replacement as part of a bathroom remodel, flooring change, or tile project
  • Trim that has to be cut and fitted carefully around a new tile edge, a vanity, or a tub or shower surround, rather than running along an open wall
  • A bathroom door casing that no longer sits flush after a flooring height change or a wall repair
  • Wanting the trim carpentry coordinated with tile, vanity, and fixture installation timing, rather than booked as a disconnected visit that has to work around finished surfaces
  • Wanting a simple casing or baseboard repair with no other bathroom work involved, in which case our handyman-tier Trim Repair, Baseboard Repair, or Crown Molding Repair pages are the direct, standalone fit
  • Baseboard replacement tied specifically to a flooring installation and nothing else, in which case our Flooring category’s Baseboard Replacement page covers that bundled scope directly

How pricing works

Bathroom trim and finish carpentry is scope-based, range pricing, and the tight, fixture-heavy layout of a bathroom is a real driver of cost beyond standard trim rates:

  • Linear footage and profile. The core trim math is the same as any finish carpentry project: more linear footage and a more detailed profile add material and labor time.
  • Trim-out complexity around tile, vanity, and tub or shower edges. A bathroom rarely has an open wall run; trim has to be scribed and cut to meet a tile edge cleanly, notch around a vanity, or terminate correctly at a tub apron or shower curb, which takes more time than trim in an open room.
  • Coordination with tile and fixture timing. Trim installed before tile sets, versus fitted around tile and a vanity already in place, changes both the sequence and the precision required.
  • Material and finish. Paint-grade MDF or pine costs less than stain-grade hardwood species, and painting or staining is priced as a separate line, consistent with our general finish carpentry pricing.

As general market context, not a Transit & Flow Group quote, Angi’s 2026 cost data puts professional trim installation at roughly $634 to $2,262 per project on average, with per-linear-foot pricing generally running $0.50 to $10 depending on material and profile; bathroom-specific trim-out around tile and fixtures commonly runs toward the higher end of that range because of the extra cutting and fitting involved. What’s included

  • Removal of existing baseboard and door casing where a bathroom project requires it
  • New or reinstalled trim, scribed and cut to fit cleanly against tile edges, a vanity, and tub or shower surrounds
  • Cutting, coping, and mitering at corners, doorways, and transitions specific to a bathroom’s layout
  • Basic wall patching directly behind removed trim where needed
  • Coordination with your bathroom project’s tile and fixture installation schedule so trim work follows the correct sequence
  • All workmanship is backed by a 1-year labor warranty on labor, parts, and equipment covered per manufacturer terms.

What’s not included

  • Simple casing, baseboard, or crown molding repair with no other bathroom work involved; see our handyman-tier Trim Repair, Baseboard Repair, or Crown Molding Repair pages for those direct, standalone scopes

  • Tile, vanity, or tub and shower surround installation itself, priced under those fixture scopes
  • Painting or staining, unless added to the scope as a separate line
  • Structural framing changes behind the trim

Bathroom trim in Central Ohio bathroom projects

A bathroom is one of the more demanding rooms in the house for finish carpentry, and that’s the reason this page exists as its own Bathroom Services scope rather than pointing straight to our general Finish Carpentry page. Older housing stock in neighborhoods like Clintonville, German Village, and Bexley often has taller, more ornate original trim profiles that are no longer stocked at standard home centers, so matching baseboard or casing around a new tile edge in these bathrooms usually means sourcing or custom-matching a period-appropriate profile. Plaster walls behind older trim can also need extra patching attention once it comes off.

Newer builds in Dublin, New Albany, and Lewis Center tend to have straighter framing and standard modern trim profiles, but larger primary bathrooms with a freestanding tub, a separate shower enclosure, and more door openings mean more individual trim-out points that each need careful fitting around tile and fixtures. Across both settings, the trigger is almost always the same: tile, a new vanity, or a tub-to-shower conversion changes what the trim has to meet at its edges, and that’s a different job than running baseboard along an open wall. If your bathroom’s trim issue is a simple, isolated repair with nothing else going on, our handyman-tier Trim Repair, Baseboard Repair, and Crown Molding Repair pages remain the more direct and typically less expensive booking.

Our process

  1. Share your bathroom project and trim goals online. Photos, rough linear footage, and what’s changing (tile, vanity, tub or shower), entered in the Estimate Builder for a preliminary online estimate.
  2. On-site measurement. We walk the bathroom, measure linear footage, and confirm profile and material, noting every point where trim will meet tile, a vanity, or a fixture edge.
  3. Scope and sequencing. Each trim run gets its own line item, sequenced with your tile and fixture installation schedule. Final scope and price subject to verification at this step.
  4. Installation. Trim is scribed, cut, coped, or mitered to fit cleanly against tile edges and fixtures, then caulked and filled to a paint-ready or finished state.
  5. Final walkthrough and touch-up. We check joints, reveals, and finish quality with you before considering the bathroom’s trim complete.
