How pricing works

Room painting is priced per room, using the room’s square footage, ceiling height, and prep level as the core inputs, not a single flat number applied to every room regardless of size.

• Wall area and ceiling height. A standard 8-foot bedroom prices differently than a two-story great room or a room with vaulted ceilings, since both surface area and staging time scale with height.
• Prep level. Light prep (cleaning, nail holes, minor scuffs) is the standard case. Heavy prep, drywall patching, plaster crack repair, or heavily glossy trim needing sanding, is priced as its own line rather than folded silently into the base price.
• Color change versus refresh. Switching to a noticeably different color, especially dark to light, typically needs more coats than repainting the same color, and that difference is priced rather than assumed at the worst case for every job.
