Dryer Installation in Columbus, Ohio

Transit & Flow Group installs your customer-supplied gas or electric dryer, connecting it to the existing gas line or 240V electrical outlet and hooking it up to your existing dryer vent. This is installation labor for a dryer you’ve purchased and delivered yourself, not a dryer sale, and not vent repair or cleaning. Enter your dryer type and laundry room details in the Estimate Builder for a preliminary online estimate.

Is this the right service for you?

Book dryer installation when you have a new dryer, gas or electric, and need it connected at an existing laundry hookup. That covers:

  • A new dryer delivered to replace an old one in the same spot, with existing gas or electrical connections already in place.
  • Switching dryer fuel type (gas to electric or electric to gas) at a location that already has, or will need, the matching hookup.
  • Moving a dryer to a different room or a first-time laundry setup, where a hookup already exists but no appliance is currently connected to it.

If your actual problem is with the dryer vent itself, rather than connecting the appliance, this isn’t the page you need. A vent that’s clogged with lint, restricting airflow, or causing long dry times is covered by our published Dryer Vent Cleaning service, and vent routing problems, damaged ductwork, or a vent that needs to be rebuilt or rerouted are covered by our Dryer Vent Service page. Both are separate from this appliance-connection service, and we’re happy to point you to whichever one actually matches your issue if you’re not sure.

How pricing works

Dryer installation is priced as a flat fee for a standard hookup: connecting your dryer to an existing gas line or 240V outlet, leveling the unit, and connecting it to your existing dryer vent duct.

The flat price steps up when:

  • There’s no existing 220V/240V outlet for an electric dryer, or no existing gas line and shutoff for a gas dryer, and new wiring or gas line work is needed.
  • The vent connector or ductwork at the dryer location needs modification to fit the new unit, beyond a standard connection.
  • The dryer is being installed in a new location without an existing hookup of any kind.
  • Access is tight, such as a stacked laundry closet, requiring extra time to maneuver the unit into place.

For general market context, Angi’s 2026 data on gas dryer installation cites a total range of roughly $760 to $1,650 when the appliance, gas line work, and venting are all included; that figure covers more than our scope and is general market context, not a Transit & Flow quote, since our flat fee is installation labor only for your customer-supplied dryer at an existing hookup. Enter your project details and photos in the Estimate Builder for a preliminary online estimate. Final scope and price subject to verification on site.

What’s included

  • Connecting your dryer to an existing gas line and shutoff, or an existing 240V outlet
  • Leveling and securing the dryer in place
  • Connecting the dryer to your existing vent duct
  • A function test, running a short cycle to confirm heat, drum rotation, and proper shutoff
  • A basic visual check of the vent connection at the appliance for obvious disconnects or damage
  • All workmanship is backed by a 1-year labor warranty on labor, parts, and equipment covered per manufacturer terms.

What’s not included

  • The dryer itself; Transit & Flow does not sell or supply appliances, this is installation labor for a dryer you’ve purchased separately
  • New gas line runs or new 240V circuits, quoted separately if they don’t already exist
  • Dryer vent cleaning, rerouting, or duct repair; see our Dryer Vent Cleaning and Dryer Vent Service pages for those
  • Removal and haul-away of the old dryer, unless added to the scope

Central Ohio context

Central Ohio’s housing stock spans decades, and that shows up clearly in laundry room wiring and gas lines. Older homes in neighborhoods like Clintonville and German Village sometimes still have original circuits that were sized for a smaller electric dryer decades ago, or a gas line and shutoff that hasn’t been used in years and needs a check before a new gas dryer connects to it. Newer construction in Dublin, Powell, and New Albany more often has a modern 240V outlet or gas line already sized correctly, which usually keeps the flat price at the standard rate.

Basements are also common laundry locations here, and basement dryer vents in older homes tend to run longer distances to reach an exterior wall, which is exactly the kind of vent condition that belongs on our Dryer Vent Service page rather than this one.

Our process

  1. Tell us about your dryer. Gas or electric, delivery timing, and photos of your current hookup, submitted through the Estimate Builder for a preliminary online estimate.
  2. We confirm the flat price for a standard hookup or flag anything from the list above that would change it.
  3. Scheduled visit. Our technician connects gas or electrical, then the vent duct.
  4. Leveling and test. The dryer is leveled, secured, and run through a test cycle.
  5. Walkthrough. We confirm proper operation and point out anything worth knowing about your vent setup before we leave.
