Is this the right service for you?

Shower Door Installation is the right service when your shower opening already exists, tub or stall, curb or curbless, and you simply need the glass door or enclosure panel mounted into that opening. It covers framed doors with an aluminum frame around the glass, semi-frameless doors with a frame on the hinge side only, and frameless doors mounted with heavy glass clips and hinges directly to the wall and, where applicable, a curb.

This is not the same as Walk-In Shower, our remodeling service for converting a tub into a walk-in shower, which involves demolition, waterproofing, and building a new shower from the studs out. If your project is turning a tub into a shower, or replacing the shower pan and walls, start there instead. It is also not the same as Shower Design, our planning service for choosing enclosure type, layout, and fixtures before construction begins. If you have not decided what kind of shower door or enclosure you want yet, Shower Design is where that decision gets made. Shower Door Installation is specifically the fast, install-only labor step that comes after you have already chosen and purchased your door and your shower opening is ready to receive it.

How pricing works

Shower Door Installation is a single flat price for a standard install into an existing, ready shower opening. That price assumes:

  • A shower opening that is plumb, level, and properly waterproofed, with tile or surround work already complete
  • A door or enclosure sized to fit the existing opening, whether framed, semi-frameless, or frameless
  • Standard mounting into tile or a fiberglass surround with typical hardware

What steps the price up: if the opening is out of square or out of plumb enough to require shimming or custom fitting, if the wall surface behind the intended hardware is not solid enough to anchor into without additional reinforcement, if the door needs cutting or resizing to fit (which we generally cannot do on-site for tempered glass), or if the shower curb or pan needs any repair before the door goes on. We flag any of these before proceeding.

As general market context, not a Transit & Flow Group quote, Angi’s 2025 data shows shower door installation typically running $300 to $1,200 in total project cost depending on door style, with frameless glass commonly landing at the higher end of that range. Starting at $299.

Central Ohio context

Older Columbus homes in neighborhoods like Clintonville, Grandview Heights, and German Village often have showers built decades before frameless glass became common, and original tile work is not always perfectly plumb or square by today’s standard. That gap matters more for frameless doors, which have no frame to hide small irregularities, than for framed doors, which tolerate more variation. In newer construction around Dublin, New Albany, and Powell, shower openings tend to be more consistently square, which usually makes for a more predictable frameless install.
